What Is Proximity Key?

12-08-2020 by Tony Bell - A proximity key (also named Smart Key, Intelligent Key, Keyless Go or Push-to-Start) is a remote shaped device that authorizes a keyless door access and ignition mechanism in your vehicle.

When owner is within the admissible distance, the keyless entry device transmit audio and infrared frequency waves with your automotive to open and close doors and even to start up the engine with the key in the pocket.

Way back in 1998, Mercedes-Benz was the first manufacturer of automobiles to present this technology in the automotive industry.

Currently, auto drivers can take advantage of keyless devices and push-start ignition on most vehicles and use operations like mirror adjustment, automatic door closing and unlocking, remote start, alarm and many more.
